REG. U.S. PAT. OFF.
On The DL, the baseball trash-gossip blog that's fast becoming 1,000 times more relevant than all of the New York Times opinion columnists put together, now offers photos of ballplayers drinking & flirting!
Well, I was curious enough to visit, and you know the impression I got? That it was a site trying real hard to maintain the illusion of rampant heterosexuality on the players' behalf. I'm sure many of them "love the ladies" in great detail, but I'm equally sure there are a large number of players who are either gay or het and monogamously married...
You're right about that, Elayne.I'm wrote to the OTR people and requested some gossip about gay ballplayers. I'll let you know if they answer.
Thanks for posting the link on your site, but contrary to some people's beliefs, we're not intentionally "witholding" information on gay players. Sorry, Elayne, but most players are neither monogamously married nor gay. I know of one definitively bisexual player and that's about it. Sorry, but maybe it's just that gays in sports aren't as common as you'd like them to be (or they're extremely quiet about it and therefore, nearly no one knows). This isn't intended to be mean or rude, but the notion that we're intentionally trying to perpetrate an image of brazen heterosexuality is a bit foolish.Take care!
