Now, if only we could have the Yankees win another Subway Series with the Mets, this will truly prove to be another Shitty Placeholder Baseball Season to Blot Out With Alcohol!

Well, except for us New Yorkers, who will be busy trying to figure out how to bypass all the frenzied fans and tourists. My drives into Queens would be particularly affected as they pass by both stadia so I'm screwed either way...

And I say all this as a fan of both teams. With, you know, a life.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

They only won because of competitive imbalance. No other team could afford to pay Melky Cabrera, Chien Ming Wang, Andy Phillips and Robinson Cano.

The Yankees are the GOP of baseball; evil to the core yet they always win.

I was resigned to their World Series win until I remembered that would mean a ring for A-Rod, which must never, ever be allowed to happen.

Oh, Peter. If spreading the profits among their players is evil, yes, the Yankees are evil (but not very GOPish). But if GOPishly sponsoring secret CIA torture flights is evil, save your scorn for the Red Sox.

I'm actually a Seattle Mariners fan -- I think the Mariners mostly lend out their team plane to transport orphaned kittens and puppies to new homes; maybe also for dropping daisies and tulips over wartorn areas of the Middle East.
